Hi, I'm Lydia. I'm 23. I started this board because I couldn't relate to a lot of what goes on in the online ASD world, as it's either aimed at people with AS or parents.
My mom took me to doctors when I was little because my development wasn't on track, but they told her that I was just "stubborn." Being a girl in the late 80s/early 90s was not a good place to be in terms of autism diagnosis.
I never knew that I was different. My friend in college finally pointed out that she thought I had autism, and I went for an assessment and it was confirmed. I was first diagnosed with Asperger's, but that was later changed to autism by my therapist.
Currently, I'm experiencing severe processing and speech issues. I guess you could say I'm regressing. No one will listen, and no one will give me answers. I am going for a repeat diagnostic assessment soon, to compare test scores to those from several years ago... I'm hoping that with firm scores in hand, my doctor will admit that something is going on.

From the brief bio you wrote, we have a bit of a similar background. I will go put mine into an intro thread too.

There was a thread on WP, Lily, that asked who your WP twin is; I picked you and pensieve! LOL.
